We deliver the Cultivating Schools course and the European ECVET accredited Gardeniser course.

Gardeniser Pro

This is the only course developed specifically to support and train the key, professional role of community garden manager or facilitator, with every aspect of your role and the challenges you face covered. The Gardeniser training program is divided into 3 Modules and with units entirely relevant to community gardening projects.
Learners undertake learning and internship which makes them eligible to take the online test and obtain the Gardeniser Pro license. The main topics we will cover are:
-Understand the concept and main characteristics of community gardens/city and care farms
-History of the community garden/care farm/city farm and consulting the community
-Finding the right site
-Designing your project
– Working effectively with staff and volunteers
– getting and keeping staff and volunteers
– Techniques to support people, welcome a diverse community of people and to increase wellbeing on the site
– Negotiating and mediation
– Understanding costs and budgeting
-Evaluation

The Cultivating Schools online course
Key information:
-On line training for 8 sessions using Zoom
-The course covers:
Week 1-The ethos behind why growing and keeping animals benefits both learning and wellbeing outcomes.
Week 2-Identifying need in your setting. Week 3-How to design and deliver a project that supports social, emotional and mental health. Week 4-Ideas for sustainable and creative spaces. Week 5-Designing sustainable and nurturing spaces. Week 6– Creating a project that is valued and vital to staff, learners, parents and the community. Week 7-Planning and sustaining a project that is relevant to your setting. Week 8– Developing and growing your project assets.
